Belated Art Every Day Post

"Unity Concepts" 4x4" ©SPN

Did/Been- While I wasn't planning to do this till mid 2012, yesterday I took the plunge without knowing much of anything and opened an Etsy shop. The graphic design isn't finished- so I nabbed my blog banner for now. I'm still so green, I don't know how to make a badge for my blog but I'm finding this 'learn as you go' philosophy builds more momentum then the 'wait till you know'. Wanna see my first baby steps? I've got one painting listed at Shayla Paints

Did an afternoon/evening shift at Art Shack after. The PC blue screened causing some chaos. We've got a new mac on the way. I set up a new drawing ink display that comes in the cutest, decorative boxes.

Back in the Studio- Today started first thing in the studio. I finished up some collages, such as the one above.

How I felt- Motivated. Then tired and craving Heavenly Hash Ice Cream. Getting used to the daylight savings. Figured out I really wanted more sleep.

Well done you. I find we can procrastinate on getting everything perfect until the cows come home. Just get on and do it I say!

Definitely agree with the "learn as you go/ builds momentum" philosophy. I would never have started my blog otherwise. Well done! Great store opening piece too!

Yep . . "learn as you go" is a necessity for me. Good for you! I'm also going to get a new Mac. The swirling, colored pinwwheel (mine is 5 yrs old) is getting to me!
Best of luck!

I like this it has a very zen appeal to it.

The learning curve is steep but so worth it! You've done a great job. Jumping in with your feet first is often the best way to go.

congrats on opening your shop and I know what you mean about the learning curve.... sometimes it feels as though it just gets steeper the more you get into things.... I am sure lots of good things are heading your way after taking the plunge xx

CONTRATULATIONS--what a great start you have at Etsy! And I admire you for going for, beating your own goal date! It is a big learning curve getting set up and going at Etsy. For your sidebar you can find the info for setting up a mini Etsy in your account settings--go to your info & appearance set up, scroll down and near the bottom left you'll see "mini Etsy," which takes you through the steps. If you need some help, I'm here. :o) Wishing you all the best in this new adventure--fun, sales and connections! ((HUGS))

Love this collage. Reminds me of Chinese painting. I can't help seeing a bird.

Congrats on Etsy!

Yikes, just read back in time and realised you are TEACHING a Chinese painting class! Well, at least I wasn't completely off track whilst stating the obvious ;)
