Painting of the Week

This is the first painting I've finished with the used coffee filters. They were used for the strip with the three symbols. I had fun sewing rainbow thread around the squares. After battling for 3 hours with my sewing maching, I finally got it to work. Turns out the needle wasn't in properly.

Illustration Friday's theme this week is "Moon." I love it! I'm sure the artwork will be gorgeous. It's a dreamy visual I love seeing in artist's work. Often it has a fairy tale feel to it. Maybe I'll be able to get something done.

wow that's gorgeous! I like the direction you are taking your mons. More geometric. Are those mons your own designs?

No, they're traditional Japanese symbols used to identify different families. The lines are so powerful I feel they communicate universally (sometimes I'll invent my own, but not these).
I often use the geometric patterns when I want to express an analytical mind. I'd be curious to know whether you think of yourself that way...
