Art Quote Monday- Artist Nick Bantock

"Ideas are ten-a-penny. Everyone gets them. It's just that we tend to edit them out or throw them away; we dismiss them as irrelevant and unworthy, or we start to develop them but become riddled with self-doubt and lose our energy. Ideas have to be fostered, made friends with, and then encouraged through their various stages until they're strong enough to stand on their own. When they're ready, they'll make their own demands and direct their own completion."
artist Nick Bantock The Artful Dodger p.103

This is GOOD, Shayla! More and more I learn to make friends with my ideas, and not dismiss them. Every idea could be a new best friend I have yet to get to know. :o) Happy Week ((HUGS))

I know I do that, discard an idea if it isn't perfect, or also the opposite, and mull it over for so long it doesn't happen!

I suspect I interpret this quote more literally than most. :)

Thanks for the comments and Robyn thanks for tumblering.

Lisa, I have an idea on doing figurative paintings of toddler minotaurs and for organizing a summer retreat. We'll see what I'll make friends with. What about you?
