November 11, Art Every Day Diary Post

Did/Been- It's not even 10:00 am yet, so there will be more day to be written. Just sharing an edit from last night. So far Jace and I are having a fantabulous morning, reading and enjoying watching the cold, nasty rain from our warm, little nest.

Back in the Studio- Sometimes art needs to be done in my cosy corner, in bed, during a quiet time before sleep. That's when I'm trying to figure things out. Last night after switching off the computer I made 3 art journal pages. The one above, of our kitty Easha (who died this summer), just needed some finishing up. The time was right and it came together quickly.

Synchronicity- Yesterday I was having a hard time coming to terms with much of the themes that keep coming back in a synchronicitous way. The theme of life and death, love, forgiveness and healthy boundaries. The journalling is helping me come to peace and get a better understanding about what these things mean for me.

How I felt- Earlier in the day I felt angry whenever I thought of picking up an art project. "NO! I don't want to" kind of thing. So I didn't. I'm learning my own creative rhythms. That I don't need to be afraid of 'no'. It doesn't mean I won't create unless I push myself. What's been a big surprise, is that it doesn't even mean 'not today' but often 'not right now.'

More about Art Every DayLeah Piken Kolidas  started the project 9 years ago. She explains it was, "a challenge to myself to create some art every day for one month and post it on my blog. I was inspired by Nanowrimo and wanted to do something similar with art, and thus Art Every Day Month (AEDM) was born. Posting art on my blog every day helped to keep me accountable and it was fun to share my creations. The following year, I invited people to join in and each year since I've had great groups of creative people committing themselves to more creativity for the month of November with me."

Sweet portrait of your Easha, Shayla...a lovely tenderness in this one. And I like all the bright color. It is wonderful to learn of your creative experience through your daily diary here. I'm learning that no and creativity can co-exist. It's strange, but it works sometimes...LOL. Sometimes we just gotta say no as much as we say yes. ;o) Happy weekend, my friend... Off to give a shout-out about your shop at Twitter. :o) ((HUGS))

Artists work so differently from one another....thankfully or every piece of art may be like every other piece! It's interesting hearing you work out yours. Hope you're weekend is cozy.

I was pulled away before I could leave a comment yesterday. Love your journal pages of Eisha snuggled up in a cosy spot.
