As By Fire

"As By Fire" 11x14"

Sometimes frustrations levels with a piece get high enough that it just has to sit awhile. I was working on this piece, with the real rust patina back in June. The other day I picked it up and it seemed to come together in minutes (real time was more like a few days, but when things click it feels like moments, doesn't it?).

"Good things come to those who wait..", isn't that the saying? ;o) This was worth the wait...It is splendid, Shayla! To me this embodies winter emotions, and not least trying to keep warm! Maybe that's because it's sooo bbbrrr cold here in Norway that any fire, even on canvas sounds like a good things...warms the cockles of my heart anyway! Happy weekend ((HUGS))

What an intriguing painting! I find the texture, the depth & the colors fascinating. Yes, it was worth the wait.

It's funny how that happens...I suppose it's easy to get too caught up in a piece and it's best to set it aside and rest from it awhile.

This one is a real beauty!

Tracy, so glad it warmed your heart, now hopefully you've got a cosy pair of slippers for your feet. Stay warm! *Hugs* :D

Regina, and M.Kate, Thank you so much!

Megan and Jeane, yeah, that timing thing. If creating goes on too long without results my critic gets way too rowdy... A little time away from the piece makes her shut-up. Phew!!

Constance! Hello!! Things have been very good. I'm so pleased to 'see' you. Love and hugs back!

Great colours and texture, I didn't see it before but it's certainly come together now

Yes walking away from something that you feel hasn't quite worked and then coming back to look at it with "fresh eyes" is certainly a good way to work. This piece is sensational! Worth the waiting for!
Shayla, I have something for you over at MYSTORY... :)

Stunning! There's so much warmth in the heart of the painting. It makes me think of sitting next to a glorious fire all safe and cosy while winter is raging outside.
