Painting of the Week

This painting is called "Exultant." The border was made by carving a stamp and smooshing it into wet, thick, white paint. The only thing I will do differently next time is to attach the stamp to plywood. It's not as easy on the stamp as regular stamping. Since there's a sort of peeling action the stamp tore. Another idea would be to use the harder pink linolium block as opposed to the white rubber blocks I usually use. Melissa Morton has a good demo on carving your own stamps.
