What is your idea of Romance?

The Ides of March, the 15, is our 7 year anniversary so below I'm sharing a love song Jason wrote me. I filmed the video with his
artistic direction.
Since this was coming up, Jace and I have been talking about what "Romantic" means. That lead to thinking about little things vs big
momentous events. We figured it would be fun for us to initiate a year of mini-celebrations. On the 15 of each month for a year we can do
something small. I like the no pressure feel of it not having to be "Momentous". Since it falls on Monday this year,
we weren't decided on when to celebrate. He surprised me last week with a home made gourmet dinner he made and
planned by himself. He intended it as spontaneous and simple, but to me it felt pretty momentous.
Taking off the pressure made that possible. Next weekend, I'm going to do something no pressure and simple for him.
Got any ideas or tips? How do you treat your sweetie?

Because of some extra work responsibilities, I ended up clocking about a 60 hour work-week. My husband got to witness some of it first-hand, and was reminded of my job's physicality.
Saturday, he came home with a crisp new "on-sale" set of 400-thread-count sheets, a large bar of chocolate, and a bottle of massage oil. After a full-body massage on those new sheets, I felt pretty special.
Nuff said.

You are both such clever artists Shayla. I enjoyed the song and I'm so impressed with the accompanying video clip.
Cooking a favourite meal for my hubby always goes down very well and I can really impress him if its a 3 course meal. Doesn't sound romantic but its always a hit.

WOW...that is so lovely...*swoon*... What a sweet surprise! Love the song, and the video pairs so nicely with it. You two are a great pair. Happy Anniversary Shayla & Jason! :o) May the love keep growing, blooming and producing wonderful art! Hubby & I have our 10th wedding anniversary on Wednesday the 17th (no, we're not Irish ;o). I have a cold at the moment, so celebrating is the wait-and-see right now, but we are looking forward to the big day. Happy Week, my friend ((HUGS))

Oh, loved the song!
Wonderful video too!
I think you have an awesome husband that plans and cooks you gourmet dinners!
Lucky you, lucky him as well!

Happy (belated) anniversary!
Ours is coming up in April and I'm writing a very special poem for my dear one, as well as cook him a great dinner, the simple things are what both of us enjoy the most.
Oh, I'm quite sure if I had plans to whisk him off to a romantic little get-a- way like Paris, he would be quite pleased but it's just not in the budget at this time as we have been doing lots of traveling lately.

Really enjoyed this post!
Thank you for sharing, Shayla.

Margie :)

DJ- what a week, and what a great hubby.

Robyn- good food sounds like my idea of romance too.

Tracy- thanks and congratulations on the big 10!

Margie- you're right. Simple things satisfy.

M.Kate- sorry about that. It may be because of adding the video. It's not as easy to do as it used to be.

spontaneity

has to be "magically" involved; so just be always ready.
