16x12" Acrylic
This painting was a new solution to using threes in my work. I had stopped looking for a new solution, so of course it showed up. Artists are expected to be consistent so I wasn't sure if I'd have to choose between them. In the end I decided to keep both the three sets of squares and the three bands of color in my work and just do two different series.
I feel like this composition is just a bit more peaceful and accepting.
Now, a call for artists (or virtual studio visitors). David castle is doing a virtual studio tour called "Send me your Elsewhere." The link explains the idea behind the project. He's looking for inspiration and has invited you to send him a photo of your studio view by the 31 of January. My Moncton, New Brunswick studio view was featured with a Boston and Idaho view on Wednesday.
Can you believe it's already Friday? Have a great weekend.

And I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
Hi, Shayla! This a great one...it is VERY serene! Love the delicate beauty. Is this done with paints? Hope you had a great weekend! ((HUGS)) Oh, stop by if you can this week--I'm having a fun giveaway! :o)
That painting looks like its been taken with a cameara! You are so talented Shayla and this is really beautiful. Happy week ahead :D
I love your composition, and just wish I had a studio!
: )
wonderful! i really like how you combine a line of trees with an abstract quality. It makes me want to step closer....
Great texture in the band of trees!
I love the movement in this painting Shayla...I also love your limited colour palette.
I had a quick look at "Send Me Your Elsewhere" too. Great idea...oh the veiw from your studio...snow! I am sitting here melting at 43C...we are having a serious heat wave here in melb...and your photo has brought some coolness, thank you :)
I also thought you had used a photograph at first. The dark base and the fine line detail really make the painting. It's my new favourite!
Thanks for visiting my blog, Shayla - it's so nice to meet other artists from the same area! And you have a wonderful blog...in particular, this frosty piece gives me the chills...
I've added a link to your blog on mine...
