Winter White

This painting may or may not be finished. It's going to sit for a bit so I'll know for sure. I had fun embossing it with glitter so it looks extra icy. I've noticed that the seasons do have an impact on the colors I choose. Our snowy storms have changed to hurricane-like wind and rain. Nothing too serious, just cold and not wanting to come out from under the blankets kind of weather. Maybe my next painting will be of rain.

An extra big thanks to Jeane of Art It and Tracy of Pink Purl for awarding me this award.

Shayla - I really like this painting - stiff dark trees on an icy background - letting things sit is such a good idea I think - the next time you look at it, you will be in an entirely different place which could give you a whole new outlook on the piece - I find that exciting - your sidebar is looking really great - I love the tree of life painting and your new header is really really wonderful! and your new pic of course, but I think I've probably said that a dozen times already! - look forward to seeing what happens with this piece!

So glad to be able to share this award with you, Shayla. It has been such fun to meet you and I value your friendship and our creative exchanges. :o) Speaking of creativity...I really like what's happnening with you painting in progress! the glitter adds such a great layer of dimension and dreaminess. The thick strokes add real frostiness. I can't wait to see what will happen next with piece. I like your approach to painting...begin, bu put aside and add to later, adding another layer...We're off Monday for our Christmas trip. Look forward to catching up with you when we're back at New Years! Happy Days ((HUGS))

Thank you Bindu and Mary Kate :)

Jeane, thanks. Yes, that's what I like. A changing outlook. Glad you're enjoying my sidebar. That's quite a complement coming from a sidebar junkie like yourself :D Glad you like the pic too. Jace (spouse-guy) helped me out with the banner yesterday. Was a lot of fun.

Jane, No prob! You've always been there, but it's so much more visible now with the photo. Plus I know when you've updated too. 'Things that make you look twice', that's a great way to put it.

Thank you Tracy, my friend. Have lots and lot of fun on your trip! You'll be missed, but I know you'll come back with all kinds of enthusiasm and great news. *Hugs*

Shayla, your painting is a wintery wonder...what I am drawn too the most, is the way you painted those trees...I love the "mark making" that created them...very sensitive.

You've really captured the cool temperature here, I may have to return to look at it again in a few days when our temperature starts to rise and we're looking to cool off. I like the way the trees appear to be peeping through the clouds.
Congratulations on your award and thanks so much for including me in your side bar.

A new look! I love your banner, Shayla....and the painting in this post. I get the feeling of colours reflecting off the snow.

Love this painting as is. The space in the canvas really gives depth to the piece.
